This project was a freelance job for the baking company Catastrophic Confections.
The owner came to me looking to create her brand identity. She bakes and includes cat antics in her posts. I worked to combine both important aspects of her company into one cohesive logo.
I created the logo, stickers for packaging, and business cards. We are still working together to build her brand.
process
To begin, I created a mood board with images from her website to create a color scheme. I also explored possible font options, that I felt worked well with the tone of the company.
For the logo, I wanted to be sure to incorporate the essentials for the business: cats and baking. I decided to make the cat look like a mixing bowl, as well as a "C" for the name of the business.
Once we had agreed upon a general direction for the logo, we wanted to explore all color options in the logos and business cards to see how they worked together. I explored various layout options and color combinations.
After going through all of the combinations, the owner narrowed it down to her favorite color and layout. The final font was also decided, using Sign Painter as the display font, and Mukta Mahee as the body text.
