ui/ux design | blossom | 2022
The goal for this project was to experiment with ui/ux design by creating an app for a pregnancy test. Along with the pregnancy test feature, I added an information page where women can access lots of different articles regarding different aspects of women’s health, such as birth control, pregnancy prep, and more. Additionally, the app can be used for tracking your cycle, sharing pregnancy updates, and setting up doctors appointments. The app is named Blossom to represent a young woman blossoming, or a baby blossoming in its mother.
process
To begin this project, I started by creating different personas to figure out what I wanted to accomplish with the app. I knew that in addition to the pregnancy test feature, I wanted to expand the audience so a variety of people could use it. This lead me to add features for before, during, and after pregnancy. Additionally, couples who choose to go a different route, like surrogate or adoption, can find out more information and the mother can send updates.
The colors that I chose for this project are pink and blue. I wanted the color palette to be very delicate and welcoming. The pink and blue represent the typical colors when announcing the sex of the baby. Additionally, the pink adds a soft feminine feel, and the blue represents a medical feel.
For this project, I wanted both of the fonts used to be delicate and convey the same emotion as the content of the app. For the display text, I used Blenny. For the body text, I used Meta.
